Mongezi Khumalo

Mongezi Khumalo founded Sithelokuhle Trading in 2016 and holds a National Diploma in Civil Engineering. He heads delivery on the company’s civil works, roadworks and sanitation contracts, and holds CIDB-documented training in construction contract documentation and tendering.

Company story

A Soweto civil contractor since 2016.

Sithelokuhle Trading was founded in 2016 and is based in Jabulani, Soweto. It is a 100% black-owned civil contractor, CIDB-registered (Grades 1GB, 1SQ, 2CE) and B-BBEE Level 1 (135%) — and it supplies earth-moving plant with operators and graded materials direct from quarry stock.

The company delivers earthworks, roadworks, sanitation, building and finishing works for Gauteng municipalities — including the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) and Johannesburg Water — and for main contractors who engage it as a subcontractor. Works are documented with inspection checkpoints and close with GCC 2015 completion certificates.

To date three contracts have reached practical completion and are certified: the Maphumulo Bridge package (JRA/23/02), basic sanitation services in Naledi (JW14469, for Johannesburg Water), and the Slovoville Phase 5 gravel road upgrade (JRA/24/40).

Sithelokuhle Trading applies structured quality control on every contract, documented inspection checkpoints and defect-correction procedures consistent with the General Conditions of Contract for Construction Works (GCC 2015), under which its completed contracts were administered. Formal ISO 9001 certification has not yet been obtained.
